Sleepsmith is always looking for CRNAs to help address the needs of northern Michigan health centers. Whether you’re looking for full-time work, or a part-time per-diem gig, we have a position for you with our company. We do have some opportunities for physician anesthesiologists as well. Don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you’d like to speak with us about one of those opportunities.
Why work with us?
Aside from the beauty of northern Michigan, you’ll be happy to hear that working for Sleepsmith gives you a variety of other advantages over other large regional and national staffing companies.

We make sure our contractors get paid well, and that there is work available for those who want it.
We Understand This Business
We are a provider-owned company, so our founders practice anesthesia. You can trust that we will set realistic and informed expectations.

We work with all our CRNAs to create a manageable schedule based around the work you want.
No To The “No-Compete”
We don’t use them.

What Types of Positions Are We Hiring?
Full-Time
Our full-time contractors get first priority when work is available. Full-time contractors are expected to be ready and available for work as it arises.
Per-Diem
“Per-diem” is a label given to contractors who work “as needed.” Signing up to be a per-diem CRNA at Sleepsmith means you only work when you want and when there’s work available for you. Working per-diem is a great way to make some money while keeping a more accommodating schedule.
Emergency
Emergency contractors are only called in times of absolute need. If there are no other available providers an emergency CRNA might be called as a last resort to help a short-handed facility.
What Are We Looking For?
CRNAs
A Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) must have completed an accredited CRNA degree program and passed the National Certification Exam (NCE). We work with experienced and new CRNAs to create a dynamic team of anesthesia providers.
Sleepsmith is also potentially looking for a Physician Anesthesiologist to add to our roster. If you think you might be the one, reach out to our team for more information!
Familiarity in Independent Practice
All of our CRNAs are 1099 contractors. We prefer to work with people who have some form of experience in their own practice or working as an independent. This preexisting knowledge is not required, but definitely helps in making the transition to a Sleepsmith partner.
Personable and Friendly Attitude
As a contractor, you will likely be sent to deliver professional services to a facility you have never worked in. While we take ample measures to make sure the integration goes smoothly, we expect a certain level of cooperation and kindness from the people that we employ–even though you’re independent, you’re still representing Sleepsmith.
POCUS Experience
Point of care ultrasound experience is required for some sites that Sleepsmith provides for. We have available training programs for POCUS, but applying with the experience is a big plus.
“As a CRNA that prefers to work to my full scope of practice, it is important that I work with companies that foster the same principles. Thankfully, Sleepsmith is that type of company. Sleepsmith provides the opportunity for me to utilize my regional ultrasound skills and to practice Opioid Free Anesthesia. I have been working with Sleepsmith for 2 years and the process of receiving assignments and compensation has been nothing but stress and complication free. I highly recommend Sleepsmith for any CRNAs looking for that great opportunity to utilize your skill set and provide excellent patient care.”

Founder of McLott Mix
“Sleepsmith Anesthesia has made my transition into 1099 practice easy. Treavor and Alan work hard to make every step of the process painless including credentialing, scheduling and payment. As fellow CRNAs, they understand my professional goals. They are easy to reach and quick to respond to any question or need I may have.”
